Leadership in Digital Transformation: Why women matter?

This eConference aims at exploring and analysing women’s leadership in the Digital era, which in the following years will supposedly disrupt the labor market and require new technological skills, resilient mindset, and attitudes, such as predilection for STEM studies.
A few reasons that make new technology adoption essential for women’s leadership, but more difficult to be integrated into women’s career development will be discussed, together with the potential interventions and changes that policy makers, businesses, and organisational design processes have to consider to step up and overcome women’s barriers access to digital technologies.
The more women are to be found in high-profile capacities, the better the organisation will perform?
Recent trends and scenarios will be presented, the main questions related with these topics will be discussed, and business cases on how supporting women in STEM professions and boosting women’s digital skills in emerging economies would be a successful shift for organisations.
“A Lesson from data on women in STEM” by Flavia Marzano – Eutopian Founder/Vice President
Flavia is now full professor and director of the Master Smart Public Administration at Link Campus University. Over the years, she has worked as consultant on innovation for the public administration, evaluator and auditor of European projects, and former professor for some Italian universities. Member of the national committees for Open Source software of the public administration. Founder and former President of Stati Generali dell’Innovazione, and Open Data by default, FOIA. Founder of the WISTER group (Women for Inclusive and Smart TERritories).
“Challenges and success story of a female engineer from Southern Italy” by Agata Quattrone – Eutopian Founder
Agata is now President of P4C – Prepare for Change. She is an Engineer with a PhD degree in Transport and Logistics Engineering. She is expert in Digital Transformation, Smart City Policies and Innovation. Researcher in the field of the Digital Agenda, Transport and Smart & Sustainable Mobility with many scientific publications at national and international level. She has been Project Manager, designer of digital platforms and smart services with experience in projects for the transport sector and the Public sector. Her past working experience as external technical councillor includes responsibility for ‘Planning of Sustainable Urban Development, Transport and Mobility, Smart City’ at the Municipality of Reggio Calabria.
“From Legal to Tech Jargon – fearless of getting lost in translation” by Luisa Scarcella – Eutopian Founder/Chief Economist, Taxation, Innovation in Finance
Luisa works as research Associate at the International Fiscal Association, she is also coordinator of the Finance, Law and Economics working group of the Young Scholars Initiative INET (Institute for New Economic Thinking) and research associate at the Center for Blockchain Technologies of the UCL University of London.
She has been research and teaching assistant at the Tax Law Department of the University of Graz where she is also a PhD candidate. Before starting her doctoral course she completed an internship at the European Central Bank. In the past, she has also worked as research associate at the Cambridge Center for Alternative Finance of the University of Cambridge and she was visiting scholar at the Center for Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law (CiTiP) of the KU Leuven University. Her research topics concern legal and tax aspects of the digital economy, and authored several scientific publications.

Francesca is a Transformational executive focusing on digital innovation, corporate culture and change management. Former Google leader in the EMEA Google Digital Academy for Curriculum and Innovative Learning Design. Over 15 years of international managerial experience in fast paced innovative working environments, as Google. A knack for deploying impactful global projects from strategy to implementation in different industries (Education, Corporate Academies, Shared Services), and international markets (EMEA, Americas, APAC). Proven academic and professional excellence in adult education, research, and learning design. Now, she is Professor of Practice at LUISS Business School.
