BREAKING THE BIAS
“Above all, don’t fear difficult moments. The best comes from them.” – Rita Levi-Montalcini
Dear PWA members, partners, and friends,
I hope you are staying healthy and doing well!
It’s International Women’s Day, and we’re being encouraged to Break the Bias. The 8th of March is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The Professional Women’s Association is proud to join people across the world to celebrate the resilience, achievements, and contributions of women.
The past years brought additional change and transformation to the way people work and the way people lead. We’re honored that you are part of the PWA community as we continue to explore the many factors impacting business professionals today and in the future.
I personally attribute success to the ability to adapt and thrive. If you’re a woman working in any professional field, well done! You’ve already overcome many biases to get here. But as a society, we’ve got a long way to go. One of the biggest misconceptions about gender equality is that it only benefits women, but the data could show that this is not true. Businesses can become leaders against gender discrimination in all workplace settings!
We must defend the rights of women everywhere and most especially where they are under threat.
We have an opportunity to act, improve opportunities and rebuild post-pandemic workplaces without bias for the benefit of everyone. I believed everyone has a crucial part to play in building a gender-balanced world, and the PWA community is no exception.
The aims of the evening are to empower, connect and celebrate who are driving success in their organizations and inspiring the PWA community. The women that join us for what’s set to ensure that women’s progress persists!
I thank you for your interest, trust, and cooperation, and here’s wishing you peace and Happy International Women’s Day!
