Winter Queen 2020-21, Mirela Cojocaru, is truly an exemplary Professional Woman; smart, sociable, curious and ambitious, yet calm, humble, and with her two feet solidly on the ground. Since two years, Mirela has gifted the PWA Board and Team with her multifaceted knowledge and inspiring collaboration, first as Newsletter Editor – getting to know the association more profoundly – and this year in the role of Membership Director. The entire PWA community recognizes Mirela’s commitment and poise and hails this year’s Winter Queen, thanking her for her dedication and loyalty. Not only has she participated in every single PWA event, but also helped attract and welcome dozens of new members to the association, making them feel at home despite the limitations of a new, virtual community and the peculiar world situation we are in.
True to her curious and risk-loving nature, Mirela keeps searching for professional and personal challenges with courage and determination. The last few years have seen her start in a new position as Sales and Business Developer, cover the labor-intense position of PWA Newsletter Editor, and then move to the position of Membership Director – while giving valuable support to all the new members of the PWA Board and Team 2020-21. A talented listener and an avid learner, Mirela regularly asks for direct feedback, willing to take risks and modify her path and behavior, stepping out of her comfort zone to reach common goals. She is soon jumping into an entirely new role as she will give birth to a baby boy in January 2021: she also recently cut her long locks to the stylish, short haircut in order to find more time to dedicate to her various duties and roles, a demonstration of her modern and practical outlook on life.
I am humbled and honored to call Mirela a friend and would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations for this well-earned and prestigious award: the entire PWA Community wishes Mirela all the best for a bright 2021 filled with health, happiness, and both professional and personal success.
